ICT TECHNO-POLIS

The New City of Sidi-Abdellah

This 400 hectares area situated at 30 km west of the capital, Algiers, is intended to become an ICT techno-polis by 2020. It will be composed by

• A two zones of activities (totaling 137ha), dealing in science and research and accommodating primarily the activities of data processing, electronics, communication, pharmacy and research and development;

• A zone of large equipment for the companies working in the sectors of health, the international trade, telecommunications, tourism and financial engineering;

• A cyber park (94ha) supporting the development of new communication and information technologies, and close to a university and research centers; and

• A city of medicine.

Indian building companies have been selected among some 28 Algerian and foreign firms working on the assets. The final cost of the project is expected to reach $ 45 billion, and the city, about 100,000 inhabitants.
