Recent terrorist attack on the US headquarters in Afghanistan, killing innocent people, will not act as deterrent to the US presence, rather it will lend greater justification to their prolonged stay, should they wish to do so.
While, the unsuspecting and innocent lose their lives, military and security forces in the opposite camps get flushed with higher security allowances for operating apparently in high risk zone.
Rampant corruption and increased desire for amassing wealth compels one to doubt the veracity of the oft repeated and identified cause of terrorism. Larger than life intricacies in corridors of power across the globe defy easy comprehension and hence solution.
I think one can begin to address the problem of terrorism by ensuring economic prosperity across populations and nations through greater and fair economic activity. Also, let every country deal with problems itself or let the immediate neighbours collectively sort out in a well thought out consensus. After all, they share not only borders but ethnic synergies and are most impacted.
