SOUL SEARCH:Peace by Piece
I listened to the religious leaders, at a recent interfaith summit, urging the world to move towards attainment of 'peace'. Peace, as I see it, must begin from within the nucleus of life to the broad cosmic manifestation.
The genesis of peace, therefore, is really the Self. Can we at the individual level be at peace given the constant onslaught of rising expectations, needs and aspirations?
Perhaps, we could all be peaceful, and talk of peace, if we adorn the veil of a nun or the robe of a monk. The reality of creation, sustenance, growth and destruction defies real peace but accepts harmony and a deep seated acceptance of effort at evolution of thought and action that ensures a happy and harmonious human and natural environment with least collateral damage to others.
We all can attain a piece of peace if we begin to see our neighbour in ourselves and aim at harmonious social and civic life.
